Introduction to Shiatsu Bodywork

Shiatsu Bodywork is Japanese. This hands-on bodywork works through your clothing into your muscles, tissue or so called meridians.

You can experience a respectful touch that allows you to invite the giver in. There is no force in a Shiatsu treatment.

Contact Autumn above or go to www.autumn-falk-naturopath.co.nz

The connection between giver and receiver is a communication through breathing and gentle pressure lightly or deeply applied into areas or points of your body. In a Shiatsu session energetic or emotional imbalances that have caused a physical symptom like headache or digestive problems can be addressed and improved.

For a first Shiatsu treatment I would suggest a 1.5hr booking that allows for an in depth questionnaire to be able to take a complete case history prior to the treatment.

In oriental medicine the focus is on the whole person that is treated.

All aspects that make us feel in a physical or emotional way are looked at.

Shiatsu bodywork gives the receiver the chance to accept where they are now and makes them feel good.

Re-establishing health or maintaining health is possible through regular Shiatsu treatments and through additional lifestyle changes.

Please get in touch with me so we can talk about your health and find out what you need to get to be treated individually.

As a naturopath, Autumn works with natural medicine, body work and iridology. Her focus is to combine shiatsu, herbal remedies and dietary advice to prevent illness and to support the body’s natural healing ability.

Foremost for Autumn is the clients ability to restore optimal health and well-being.

Next month, Autumn will write about natural medicine and her use of herbs.

Meet Autumn Falk she is a Medical Herbalist, Naturopath and Shiatsu Practitioner based here in the Bay of Plenty.

"I'd like to empower people to find peace in their body and mind. Natural health brings the power back to you."

Trained by leading herbalists and iridologists in Germany, at the “Institute of Phytotherapy” (IfP) in Berlin, she completed her three year training in 2007. After the statutory exams, she graduated as a naturopath in 2008.

Autumn’s studies as a naturopath and medical herbalist focussed on Iridology, Phytotherapy (medical herbalism), Chinese medicine, basic homoeopathy and complementary therapies, including body work.

During this training Autumn came into contact with Shiatsu and found this form of body work to provide a welcome balance within the busy, mental activities of study. Autumn began her three year Shiatsu training alongside her naturopathy studies.

Autumn was born and raised in Germany. Upon completion of high school, Autumn travelled in New Zealand and decided this was the country of her future home. At this time however, she returned to Germany to study.

Having gained her qualifications in Germany as a naturopath and then shiatsu practitioner, Autumn moved to New Zealand in 2009 and is happy to be growing her clinic in the beautiful Bay of Plenty.

Autumns strengths include combining herbal remedies with body work. She is inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which plays a major role in Shiatsu and influences her approach to natural health. With her compassion and playfulness, she naturally guides her clients to improve their health and wellbeing.

Plants and nature have always been passions, leading to her current use of herbal medicine and inspiring her continual learning processes. Meditation has also played an important role in Autumns life and the principles of meditation as a sanctuary for wellness and self love have become a part of her nature in working with her clients.
