“If You Can Survive, You Must Remember That I Love You”
After an earthquake in China in May 12th 2008, a team of rescuers found a woman’s body buried under a collapsed house. When the rescuers concluded the woman was dead, they continued their search for survivors elsewhere.
But there was something strange about the woman’s position that dragged the leader of the rescuing team back to that house.
The second time, he examined the place closely. To his great surprise, he found a three months old baby boy peacefully sleeping in his mother’s arms. The strange position the woman took was to protect and shelter her son from the collapsing house, which eventually cost her life.
Second touching surprise came when the rescuers found a cell phone hidden in the blankets the baby boy was wrapped in.
There was a message the mother had typed in her last moments to her son: “If you can survive, you must remember that I love you.”
“There Is Nothing More Dangerous Than A Mom With Her Baby”
On New Year’s Eve 2011, a recently widowed 18-years old mother in Oklahoma had to face another terrible moment only a week after tragically losing her husband to cancer.
A man that was supposedly stalking her tried to break into her house with an accomplice. For twenty minutes they were bashing the front door, before they broke in, giving her enough time to hide her baby in the bed room, grab a pistol, a shotgun and dial 911.
When on the phone with the operator, the young mother asked if it was ok to shoot.
The operator replied it was ok to do anything necessary to protect her house, herself and her baby.
So when the two men eventually got in, the first one holding a 12-inch long hunting knife, she didn’t hesitate and shot the first intruder dead. The other man ran away, but later on surrendered to police.
He was later on charged as responsible for his accomplice’s death. The police determined the mother acted in self-defense and she was not charged.
She is another living proof that a mother will do anything to protect her child and as she said herself: “There is nothing more dangerous than a mom with her baby.”
Amazing Moms From The Animal Kingdom
It is not only the human mothers that care for their children unconditionally and who adopt and take care of other children.
It is highly surprising and unusual, but more and more often we can hear stories about a dog mothering a bunch of little kittens, but also the story of a cat adopting an abandoned fawn, or the little foal raised by a goat.
Still, the most amazing story of all would probably be about a leopard who adopted a baby baboon monkey whose mother the leopard just killed.
